Founded in 1982, Les Ateliers-Paris Design Institute (Ecole Nationale Superieure de Creation Industrielle) is the only French national Institute exclusively devoted to industrial design. A public commercial and industrial establishment supervised by the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Industry, it broadened its activities to include two other degree programmes in 1985 and 1993: first the Atelier National díArt Textile (ANAT), then a specialist Masterís degree in ìDesign and contemporary technologyî, the denomination of which has recently been modified.

In Summer 2007 we intertwine the practices of media arts and sound design, textile and weaving, jewellery, object and fashion design to produce the reskin Wearable Technology Lab. This collaborative project of ANAT, the Australian National University School of Art, the Centre for New Media Arts (CNMA) and Craft Australia places jewellers and fashion designers with new media artists in an intensive three week research and development lab.
